What is it like to work with me?

When I was a little boy I wanted to be a fireman like my Grandpa, then an astronaut like Neil Armstrong, then an inventor like Thomas Edison
(I later learned I should’ve wanted to be like Tesla).

I wanted to be an explorer like Ernest Shackelton or Jacques Cousteau.

Now I am a designer.

And I still want to guide people, to push the bounds of what was possible, to uncover and resolve hidden barriers, and to bring people to where they have never been before. This is how I see design.

What is it like to work with me?

I am a human focused, experimentally driven designer.

My design process begins and ends with human needs. Designs evolve through creating tests which either invalidate or support the concept.

I work fast.

And speed matters. The more cycles of experimentation, the more grounded and relevant the design.

A deeply enthusiastic person, I prefer difficult problems and seek to cultivate creative tension into robust consensus.

“Peter has an uncanny ability to see both the bigger picture and the fine details at the same time. I have met few people who can see, let alone distill and execute, with such a broad view. Peter is one of those people. He has a tender empathy that lets him see and live far beyond his own experiences, unwavering determination to gather the information or resources he needs, and then of course he’s a damn good designer so the results are perfect. Hire him- now.”

-Noel Gauthier, Design Director P&G Ventures

"Peter’s involvement has been exemplary. The completed assignments presented by him have been of an excellent level. We found him invested, sensitive, sincere, hardworking, serious and talented.”

-Julien D’Hoker, Senior Design Partner at Yellow Window

"Peter’s contributions to the projects were fantastic. His optimistic approach to some very difficult design challenges was great to have. He became integral to many projects and delivered excellent work.”

-Karl Vanderbeek, VP of Design and Human Factors, Kaleidoscope

"You took this project, which started out ambiguous, got more ambiguous, and created a well thought out strategy and design plan. You have opened the door for so many of us to work across pyramids and to create great solutions.”

- Amanda Miller, Target Design Director

"Your depth of research, detailed approach, and thoughtful results really showed how much you learned about both Target and our guest this summer.”

-Jim Wilson, Director Target PD+D
